A dialogue meeting was held this morning bringing together members of the Political Diwan Program affiliated with the Midad Hadhramaut Center for Strategic Research and Studies and the Secretary-General of the Hadhramaut National Council, Mr. Issam Habreesh Al-Kathiri. The meeting was held as part of the Political Diwan Program’s activities aimed at engaging with political figures and leaders, and enhancing political dialogue with youth elites.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Hadhramaut National Council presented an overview of the Council’s vision and objectives, emphasizing that Hadhramaut—having suffered from marginalization and dependency in previous stages—now possesses an independent political project that positions it as an active and equal partner in any forthcoming political settlement. He stressed that the Council represents an inclusive umbrella for all Hadhrami components and serves as the legitimate bearer of the Hadhramaut cause, with support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

For his part, the Head of the Political Diwan, Mr. Mohammed Suleiman Matran, stated that this meeting falls within the framework of the Political Diwan Program, which aims to build sound political awareness among youth by organizing dialogue sessions with political leaders and decision-makers, alongside training and capacity-building programs, thereby strengthening the role of conscious youth participation in public affairs.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Youth and Women Department at the Council, Mr. Saleh Al-Jaberi, noted that the meeting comes as part of the department’s plan to listen to youth voices and involve them in shaping the future vision.

The meeting witnessed discussions and interventions by program members, addressing the requirements of the current political phase and the challenges facing Hadhramaut and its people in securing their full entitlements within upcoming political settlements.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Jamaan Saeed bin Saad, Assistant Secretary-General of the Hadhramaut National Council, Engineer Abdulkhaleq Al-Haddar, and the Head of the Midad Hadhramaut Center for Strategic Research and Studies .
