on Sunday evening, March 8, 2026, MIDAD Hadhramout Center for Research & Strategic Studies has organized a discussion evening titled “The Role of Research Centers in Shaping Social Priorities in Hadhramout,” attended by Engineer Hisham Al-Saidi; Assistant Deputy Governor for Wadi and Desert Districts Affairs, and Dr. Salim Bajaber; General Director of Technical and Vocational Education Office and a member of Center’s founding board, as well as a group of researchers, academics, and those interested in research.
The session discussed the role of research centers in supporting decision-making and policy formulation, as well as introducing MIDAD and opportunities for partnership with government agencies, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Center’s Director, Eng. Abdulkhaliq Al-Haddar, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the significance of integrating efforts to strengthen the role of research in serving the community. The discussion sessions were facilitated by Mr. Hassan Bin Obaidullah, Head of Field Studies Unit.
The session included presentations and discussions that highlighted the importance of empowering research centers to help identify social issues and define development priorities in Hadhramout.
