Hadhramout’s Deputy Governor for Coastal Affairs Launches a Workshop on Al- Balda Season and Its Role in Promoting the Local Economy

The Deputy Governor of Hadhramout for Coastal Affairs, Hassan Al-Jailani, has initiated a workshop titled “Analyzing Challenges and Exploring Opportunities in Al-Balda Season and Its Role in Strengthening the Local Economy”. The workshop was attended by a number of directors of executive offices, specialists, stakeholders, and representatives of commercial institutions.

Al-Jilani emphasized that the local authority in Hadhramout Governorate—represented by Dr. Salim Al-Khanbashi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and governor of Hadhramout Governorate—is giving great attention to Al-Balda Season and aims to utilize the workshop’s outcomes to develop it and enhance its economic and tourism impact.

For his part, Mr. Majdi Bashadi, Director General of Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s office in Hadhramout Coast, highlighted the office’s commitment to supporting tourism and heritage seasons, while Ms. Shaima Al-Hatif, Director of Programs and Projects at MIDAD Hadhramout Center for Research & Strategic Studies, explained that the workshop aims to examine the season’s challenges and opportunities and to develop recommendations that contribute to its development.

The workshop have included two analytical papers focusing on the development of eco-tourism and cultural tourism during Al-Balda Season, as well as an assessment and development of the festival’s organizational management. Around 30 participants are taking part in the two-day event.
