Workshop on “Analyzing Challenges and Exploring Opportunities in Al-Balda Season” Concludes in Mukalla
— The workshop titled “Analyzing Challenges and Exploring Opportunities in Al-Balda Season and Its Role in boosting the Local Economy” concluded today, Monday, June 22, 2026, in Mukalla city.
The event was organized by the Office of Ministry of Tourism in Hadhramout Coast, in partnership with MIDAD Hadhramout Center for Research and Strategic Studies. The workshop saw broad participation from directors-general of executive offices, specialists, stakeholders, and heads of commercial and tourism enterprises.
Over the course of two days, the workshop included analytical papers and rich discussions focusing on the development of eco-tourism and cultural tourism associated with Al-Balda season.
Participants evaluated the organizational aspects of the festival and reviewed the key opportunities and challenges facing it.
Participants emphasized the importance of leveraging the workshop’s outcomes to develop Al-Balda season and maximize its economic and tourism impact.
Mr. Magdi Bashadi, Director-General of Ministry of Culture and Tourism office in Hadhramaut Coast, noted that the submitted recommendations and proposals provide a valuable addition that will help elevate the season’s management and marketing. He added that these outcomes will be referred to the relevant authorities to support ongoing efforts to develop Al-Balda season and strengthen its developmental and economic role.
