The Center for Research and Environmental Studies at the University of Al-Mahrah, in partnership with Midad Hadhramout Center for Research and Strategic Studies, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Exploring and Analyzing Opportunities in the Hauf Season and Its Role in Enhancing the Local Economy and Supporting Peace” on Monday, August 25, 2025. The event was held under the patronage of the Governor of Al-Mahrah, Mr. Mohammed Ali Yasser, and the President of Al-Mahrah University, Dr. Anwar Kalshat.

The workshop brought together government officials, academics, and community leaders to discuss three research papers addressing the role of the tourism sector in sustainable development, community peacebuilding, and opportunities for developing environmental and cultural tourism in the governorate.

Speakers emphasized that the Hauf season represents a strategic opportunity to boost the tourism sector, generate economic and social benefits, and strengthen efforts towards peace and development in Al-Mahrah.
